Representing the City of
Sammamish
Sustainability Ambassador since
Summer 2020
Anshika has always been intrigued by leaders who strive to bring sustainability awareness to this society: leaders who take charge to make a difference in a world that desperately needs it. She aspires to create a better tomorrow for all, a mission that SA provides her a platform to work towards. Currently, along with the Sammamish team, Anshika is writing a Climate Action Plan (CAP) to design a strategic framework for the city to actively reduce greenhouse gas emissions and secure a sustainable future for its inhabitants. Her personal water footprint is 1426 gallons per day which is 21% better than the national average, while her carbon footprint is 25 tons of CO2 per year--62% better than average. To reduce these amounts, her ongoing impact project is to remove a portion of her lawn to save 33% water used to irrigate the grass, while respecting community standards. In place of the removed grass, she plans to plant native plants that consume fewer resources. Aside from all things sustainable, Anshika enjoys dancing, painting, reading, and messing with her sister.
