About the Event
Every season throughout the year, we convene teachers, student leaders, and subject matter experts from industry, government, and nonprofit sectors to immerse ourselves in the next steps of integrating academic standards across the curriculum into the real-time community performance measures of your City’s Climate Action Plan. The is a Local Living Textbook for empowering youth voice, agency, and ownership, rigor meets relevance while building cross-sector relationships for the common good. We will use an equity lens to design for equity outcomes, science to analyze local climate impacts, technology to explore smart city applications, data science and math to calculate GHG emission reductions, and the engineering design process to identify local climate solutions including clean energy, green buildings, electric transportation, materials management, tree canopy, circular economy, and water conservation innovations. We will explore civics, economics, and human geography as a way to identify the strongest policy frameworks and market innovations for advancing your city's Climate Action Plan. Bring your team!
