About the Event

Explore “Islands of Seattle,” a new lesson framework using a science-based yet fictitious map of what Seattle would look like if global temperatures keep increasing, the ice caps melt, and sea levels rise around the world. Students study the real time trends in sea-level rise as projected by the science team at the UW Climate Impacts group, analyze a neighborhood case study in South Seattle, and consider the many simple actions we can take right now to slow down this process. Cartographer, Jeffery Linn will be on hand to share his work, methodology, and mission at Conspiracy of Cartographers.
