Zachary Chappellet Flagler
UW Environmental Studies Capstone
Zach is a Senior at the University of Washington, majoring in Environmental Studies with a minor in Business Administration. Growing up in southern California, he developed a deep love for the outdoors and the ocean, spending his free time surfing, freediving, hiking, or playing with his chickens. These passions led him to aspire to a career in the environmental field, aiming to support both his family and the environment through future environmental-related endeavors. This summer, he is working as an intern at Sustainability Ambassadors, contributing to the company while also conducting research for his capstone project in the Program on the Environment at the University of Washington. Both at Sustainability Ambassadors and in his future job aspirations, Zach is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices, believing that, by making it easier to support environmentally friendly initiatives and encouraging environmental interest, we can begin to fix the harm done to our natural world. His collegiate and work-related pursuits, coupled with his leadership roles and unwavering love for nature, drive him to explore the world while advocating for environmental conservation and sustainability, addressing environmental issues, and contributing to a cleaner, healthier future for both biotic and abiotic elements of our planet.
As an intern at Sustainability Ambassadors, Zach is dedicated to helping rapidly advance a sustainable future by curating and creating educational content for students and teachers alike. By forming templates, engaging in impact projects, creating media content, and aiding the dynamic nature of the company, Zach intends to spread awareness of sustainability and environmental efforts, contributing to impactful projects and campaigns that promote eco-friendly practices.
